Nodus Unity-Blossom Pink Review

Being a teacher’s spouse is exciting and has taught me valuable lessons. My military background led me to believe that I had learned how to communicate effectively-that was the case until I met my wife and learned how to get to the point.

Mrs. WatchRolling is a second-grade teacher and easily the most effective communicator I have ever met. She has no time for flowery language; her work environment does not afford her nor her students that luxury. Even in the sheer pandemonium that is elementary school, my wife affects the lives of her students every single day in a positive manner and leaves me in awe doing so.

With this, I present her notes from wearing the Nodus Unity-Blossom Pink. This review is a non-traditional but one I believe Nodus and the watch enthusiast community will appreciate. It is practical, contains actionable intelligence, and should be published as written.

Initial impression:

Elementary students immediately noticed this watch, calling it “cool” and “pretty.” This watch was so comfortable that I would occasionally forget I was wearing it. There are no distractions from reading the time on this watch! That is a huge bonus when being even 3-4 minutes late will initiate a domino effect and throw off the schedule of several other teachers and their classes.

After wearing this watch for a week to work and then on a trip to visit my parents, these are my thoughts:

What I loved-

  • Perfectly low profile and well-engineered to lay flush even on a small wrist.

  • Dimensions were extremely wearable and flattering for a 6” or 6.25” wrist. This is a beautiful option for women or smaller framed men who do not want a hard-to-read, delicate watch but don’t want to look/feel like they're wearing a “boyfriend’s watch.”

    • It would probably wear beautifully on a wrist as small as 5.75”.

  • Comfortable bracelet–did not pinch skin or catch baby hairs on wrist.

  • The case and bracelet were lightweight and did not weigh the wrist down or hinder daily tasks.

  • Subtle yet beautiful dial texture–it could afford even more!

  • Domed crystal allows the watch to easily transition from casual weekend wear to business attire or a more formal night out. It could easily be a one-watch collection in the right colorway.

  • Beautiful symmetry is created by the geometric indices and color-matched date window.

  • The arrangement of triangular indices is reminiscent of the petals or even seeds in the center of a sunflower.

  • The simplicity of the dial design makes this watch extremely readable during busy days. There is no clutter of digits on the minute track or bezel.

  • The clasp! The side-pusher release was fantastic! Quick to engage and disengage without pinching a finger or bending a nail the wrong way while opening/closing.

What I didn’t love/understand about the design-

  • The date window is bordered with lume, but the date is unreadable in darker environments.

  • The initial color offerings–no neutral or earth tones in a line that is inspired by nature’s symmetry.

  • The bracelet adjusted to the smallest possible configuration and was still a loose fit. I found it comfortable, but I imagine many smaller-wristed individuals would be frustrated and unable to buy and wear this beautiful timepiece.

  • The texture is difficult to showcase because it is so subtle.

What I’d be excited to see-

  • An illuminated date.

  • A shorter bracelet option or the ability to adjust to half to three-quarters of an inch smaller.

  • Extended color options to include the shades I think of most in Spring and Summer:

    • Olive or Spring Green

    • Primrose or honeysuckle yellow

    • Champagne to echo the sandy dunes and beaches

    • Deeper blue reminiscent of blue jays and bluebirds
